Shams, Zuckerwar Earn Green Innovation Award
Qamar Shams and Allan Zuckerwar have been given the Green Innovation Award for 2010 by the Green Economic Alliance and the Hampton Roads Technology Council.

The two developed an infrasonic detection system, which has applications in wind power technology, determining low-frequency noise emanating from the wind turbines, and its impact on local weather phenomena.

It also helps determine the possible health monitoring of turbine blade and how wind turbines interfere with military bases and Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty monitoring sites.

The award was presented at the Hampton Roads Technology Council's Tech Night on May 6. In the photo below, Randall Gilliland is presenting the award to Shams.
