Jack Fishman Honored with Alumni Merit Award
The Saint Louis University College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Board has selected Jack Fishman, a research scientist in the Science Directorate, as one of the recipients of the 2009 Alumni Merit Award for his accomplishments at NASA Langley. The Office of Alumni Relations selects recipients based on nominations, and only chooses candidates who exemplify an outstanding degree of accomplishment in their personal and professional lives.
“Jack’s work has embodied the spirit of our university’s traditions and we are proud of him,” says Michelle Hyde, the assistant director of Alumni Relations at St. Louis University.
The College of Arts and Sciences at St. Louis University established the Alumni Merit Award to bring attention to the inspirational stories of the college’s distinguished graduates, as well as recognize the work that alumni are doing to live the St. Louis University mission every day. This honor is also intended to showcase the recipient’s leadership, professionalism and intellectual pursuits.
Fishman received this unique award at the university's homecoming ceremony September 25, 2009. In addition, Fishman's biography of accomplishments will be featured in the pre-commencement program for spring graduation.
