Launch Services Program
Tiffany Nail is an outreach/communication manager for the Launch Services Program (LSP) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Nail serves as LSP’s liaison to KSC’s Public Affairs Directorate, the Office of Legislative/Intergovernmental Affairs and the Guest Operations Office. Nail seeks collaboration from these key NASA resources to facilitate and build a consensus of support in determining the very best communication methods available to spotlight LSP launches, missions and future projects.
Nail was recruited for two key assignments at NASA Headquarters in Washington D.C. She led the collaboration of all NASA centers for the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate supporting the “Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite” (LCROSS) impact on the moon. Nail provided highly successful organization, oversight, program management, communication, promotion, education and support targeted to build public interest for the now historical “LCROSS impact” on Oct. 9, 2009. Nail also served NASA Headquarters supporting the Science Mission Directorate on Mars outreach and communication project and "The Year of the Solar System campaign 2010-2011."
Nail has hosted the NASA TV (and YouTube show) titled “What’s Happening in the Arctic?” She served as a co-host on the NASA EDGE program CubeSat Workshop, Regolith Mining Competition 2013, and Launching CUNYSAT-1 Web shows. Nail also hosted many KSC NASA Direct Web videos featuring the Launch Services Program. Nail served as executive producer of several LSP videos. Nail won two top awards for producing the video titled “LSP: Earth’s Bridge to Space” and was awarded the coveted Silver Telly and Gold Communicator Awards.
Currently Nail’s newest passion is promoting the role LSP plays in supporting the launches of nano satellites (ELaNa). Nail is excited about the broad reach of this program. From middle schools to universities, this “hands-on” science project fires the imagination of young minds! New generations building their own tiny “CubeSat” spacecrafts, launched on government or commercial manifested rockets, is LSP facilitation at its finest.
Tiffany Nail grew up in Cocoa Beach, Florida, with family ties to pioneering space workers on the Redstone, Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, International Space Station and Space Shuttle Programs.
She serves as a “Silver Telly Council Member and Judge” of videos and film. Tiffany graduated from “Leadership Brevard Class of 2013” and was chosen a finalist in LEAD Brevard’s “Four under Forty” future Brevard leader’s program. Nail graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science and was inducted into the UCF Golden Key International Honor Society in 1999.
She enjoys cooking, reading, fitness training, and quality time with family and friends.
