Q: What do you find most fulfilling/like best about your job?

A: I am a steward of the taxpayers’ money, so when I’m able to save the taxpayers’ money, I am pleased. Like finding (market research) the perfect pair of shoes (requirements) and getting them on sale (best value).

What’s your best NASA memory so far?

Lying in bed with my grandma in 1969 watching the man land on the moon.

What’s the most interesting part of what you do here at JSC?

I led the negotiation team which was responsible for procuring, on behalf of the Orion/MPCV Program Office, the design, development, test, and evaluation (DDT&E) for Exploration Flight Test (EFT-1) which will take place in the Spring of 2014.

Where do you hope to see NASA in the future?

Back on top! I am tired of explaining that NASA is not closed for business.

What are your future career goals?

My passion and educational background are for the career development of our youth. I would love to work in the Office of Education developing programs to meet their needs.

What’s your all-time favorite food?

Blue crabs! I pick up crabs from the Kemah waterfront almost every Friday, a great start to any weekend.

If you had a chance to meet one influential person in world history, past or present, who would it be, and why?

Mother Teresa; she epitomized the essence of why we are here, service to others.

When you’re not at the office, what do you like to do?

I am a “Jackleg DIYer”, small projects and minor home repair.

Describe your dream vacation.

I have lived that dream. I was taken on a private whale watching boat off the shore of Cape Cod and for four hours I watched humpback whales feed and play. It was an incredible experience watching those gentle giants

What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten?

“Life is 10% of what you make it, and 90% of how you take it.” - Irving Berlin

After someone meets you for the first time, what impression do you hope they’ll walk away with?

I can’t believe she is almost 50?
