Fluid Systems Test Facility

The Fluid Systems Test Facility and Component Processing Facility supports fluid system tests requiring a variety of fluids, and temperature or vacuum conditioning.  It also has the capability to expose components and systems to hydrostatic pressure as high as 60,000 psi and pneumatic pressures as high as 10,000 psi, and a thermal-vac environment from hard vacuum to ambient pressure, in the range of -300°F to +350°F.   Currently installed test systems include a multi-station fuel cell test stand, several systems for testing fuel cell components, a high flow, high pressure helium test system, and a system that can maintain vessels at pressures up to 5000 psi for years at a time.

The Component Processing Facility contains a Class 10,000 clean room and performs precision cleaning, refurbishment, and pressure test of fluid system components and also performs acceptance testing and processing of  crew systems flight equipment.
