NASA Awards $40 Million Contract to Ohio Firm
NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, OH, has awarded a contract to Gilcrest Electric and Supply Company, Elyria, OH, to provide the maintenance, operations, recertification and engineering services in support of the research and technology test facilities and systems at Glenn and its Plum Brook Station, Sandusky, OH.
The total value of the contract, including options, is $40 million. Gilcrest Electric and Supply Company will support facilities including: 10- by 10-foot and 8- by 6-foot supersonic wind tunnels, Central Air Equipment Building, Engine Research Building, Refrigeration Building and the Electric Propulsion Laboratory.
The contract runs for two years with three one-year options. It is a performance based, cost reimbursement contract with some fixed price elements, including the scheduled routine maintenance of the facilities and systems. The contract will also include an incentive fee designed to reward the contractor for cost control, facility on time starts and timely completion of work orders.
