NASA Dryden Awards Facilities Maintenance Pact to EMCOR

EDWARDS, Calif. – NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center has awarded a contract to EMCOR Government Services, of Arlington, Va., to provide facility operations and maintenance at the center’s facilities at Edwards Air Force Base and Palmdale, Ca.
The firm fixed-price contract covers a nine-month base period beginning Oct. 1, 2009 valued at $3.1 million. It also includes 12-month and three-month option periods that, if exercised by the Government, will extend the contract period through Sept. 30, 2011 and bring the total value of the contract to $8.1 million.
In addition to providing janitorial, grounds-keeping services and minor facilities repairs, the contract calls for EMCOR to develop a quality Reliability Centered Maintenance program and its integration into a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
EMCOR will subcontract janitorial services to Olympus Building Services of New Hope, Pa. A total of about 45 contractor employees perform facility operations and maintenance work at NASA Dryden, with most likely to be retained under the new contract.
Facility operations and maintenance services at NASA Dryden have been performed for the past 2½ years by Pride Industries of Roseville, Calif.
