Note to Editors: The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and The Boeing Company will hold an X-45A Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV) media day at NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., on July 11, 2002.

The briefing will begin at 10 a.m., but participants must arrive at the Edwards Air Force Base Rosamond Gate by 9 a.m. to ensure timely access.

The program briefing will be conducted by U. S. Air Force Colonel Mike Leahy, X-45A program manager, followed by a question and answer session. After the briefing, attendees will be escorted to the ramp where the X-45A will be available for photos and filming plus an additional interview opportunity. A tour of the UCAV mission control facility will also be offered.

Agenda: 10 a.m. - Convene in NASA Dryden’s Bldg. 4825 conference room for briefing; 10:45 a.m. - Photo opportunities of X-45A on static display; 12 noon - Conclude.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Media representatives planning to attend the UCAV media day MUST contact the NASA Dryden public affairs office at (661) 276-2662 or (661) 276-3449 before close of business on July 8. Media representatives must be U.S. citizens, and furnish the following information: media affiliation, place of birth, date of birth, driver's license and the last six digits of their social security numbers.
