Orion Flight Test Parts Continue Arriving at NASA Dryden
The Forward Bay Cover for the first abort flight test Orion mockup crew module arrived along with other equipment at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center on July 11.
The forward bay cover serves to protect the crew module's forward bay, which houses the craft's three main parachutes, three pilot parachutes and their mortars, two drogue chutes plus their mortars, and associated pyrotechnics.
NASA Dryden is managing the Orion project's abort flight test effort under the leadership of the Project Orion Flight Test Office at NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas.
