Conference Paper Procedures

The following is a step-by-step procedure for preparing a conference paper. Each step and responsible party are identified in the procedure.

4. Develop schedule Code R research reports facilitator, author(s)
5. Outline review Code R research reports facilitator, author's branch chief, technical review chairperson, author(s)
6. Submit abstract / Complete DAA, NASA Form 1676 (Appendix A) Author/RA documentation specialist
7. Write draft Author(s)
8. Review draft Branch chief or designee
9. Incorporate comments Author(s)
10. Review and approve revised draft Branch chief or designee signs approval form, DFRC Form 54 (Appendix A)
11. Schedule technical review and distributes copies Code R research reports facilitator selects committee, schedules conference room, and distributes paper
12. Peer review Author(s), technical review committee
13. Incorporate technical review comments Author(s)
14. Review final draft Technical review committee chairperson makes final review and signs approval form, DFRC Form 54
15. Submit final draft to Code R Code R Directorate chief/designee reviews paper and Code R signs approval form, DFRC Form 54.
16. Submit approved final draft to TPO Author(s) supplies draft paper and items on TPO checklist.
17. Edit final draft TPO editor, text to tech typing, figures to graphics, photos to Imaging Technology.
18. Review edited paper Author(s)
19. Incorporate author comments TPO editor
20. Approve author release Author(s) review final copy and sign author release form
21. Print or mail paper TPO editor mails paper to conference or gives to Dryden print shop
22. Generate viewgraphs Author(s), reviewed by branch
23. Draft viewgraphs to Graphics Graphics/Visual Information Specialist
24. Rehearse presentation Branch chief, appropriate audience, author
25. Present paper Author
