Star Trek's Nichelle Nichols Returns to Dryden

Famed television actress Nichelle Nichols, who portrayed Lt. Uhura on the original 1960s Star Trek television series, returned to NASA Dryden March 29 for Women's History Month activities. After speaking at a luncheon in the ISF auditorium centered on the theme of "Women's Education, Women's Empowerment," Nichols toured several Dryden facilities. Nichols, who had recapped her career as an actress and civil- and women's-rights advocate at a prior presentation at Dryden Jan. 10, has long been an enthusiastic supporter of NASA's space-exploration efforts. › Read more about Nichelle Nichols life and career
