NASA Ames to Host Summit of Technology and Communications Experts
 
 
MOFFETT FIELD, Calif.- Internet, virtual world and communications experts from the Silicon Valley and around the country will gather at NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif., to participate in discussions about how to make NASA's missions and research more accessible on the Web. News media representatives are invited to cover the event.

The Participatory Exploration Summit will take place at NASA Ames on Tuesday, June 26, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. PDT in Building 943, adjacent to the NASA Exploration Center. Attendees will discuss how to leverage Web 2.0 standards and technologies to help NASA keep the American public involved with the agency's activities.

What: Participatory Exploration Summit
When: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. PDT, Tuesday, June 26, 2007
Where: Building 943, NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif.

The Participatory Exploration Summit is organized by CoLab, a NASA Ames project designed to explore new opportunities to work openly and collaboratively with the general public.

Registration is required to attend the event. News media interested in covering the event should contact Jonas Dino at jonas.dino@nasa.gov or 650-604-5612 by noon PDT, Monday, June 25, 2007.

NASA Ames Research Center is located about 40 miles south of San Francisco on U.S. 101. Take the Moffett Field/NASA Parkway exit and drive east. Turn left at the stop sign before the main gate. Building 943 is adjacent to the NASA Exploration Center.
