1. What is the Mars Analog Research and Technology Experiment (MARTE) expedition you are leading to Rio Tinto in Spain ? (47 SECONDS)

Dr. Carol Stoker: "I’m leading a first-site visit to a field site in Spain this April which will be the first of a number of experiments that will be building towards a mission simulation of a mission to Mars to look for life on Mars that will be occurring over the course of the next two years. The field site is in the south of Spain in a place called the Rio Tinto. The Rio Tinto means – ah the river of wine, or the river of red wine, tinto being the name for red wine in Spain. And it’s called that because the river is about the color of red wine. It’s dark, cranberry juice red."
