Statement on the Progress of Hangar One Discussions
03.11.10

Hangar One has been a meaningful landmark in the Bay Area for more than 70 years. NASA remains committed to preservation and reuse of Hangar One. In the joint Navy/NASA/OMB meeting held with Congresswoman Anna Eshoo on March 3, it was agreed by all parties that Hangar One needs to be preserved. It was further decided that the Navy is responsible for environmental remediation of Hangar One and NASA is responsible for Hangar One reuse. The Navy agreed to work in collaboration with NASA on this effort. We are currently working to figure out the details of various options. We all have a requirement to get back to Congresswoman Eshoo in a couple of weeks.
