Highlights

  • KEPLER: Five years ago, on March 6, 2009, NASA's Kepler Space Telescope rocketed into the night skies above Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida to find planets around other stars, called exoplanets, in search of potentially habitable worlds.
  • LADEE: NASA is planning to crash the LADEE spacecraft into the moon some time around April 21. This has been planned because there is not enough fuel to keep it in orbit. In order to collect “even more science data,” the spacecraft will fly “just 1 to 2 miles above the lunar surface"
  • IRIS: Mission Data is now publicly available at http://iris.lmsal.com. What is IRIS exploring today? Check it out at: http://iris.lmsal.com/iristoday/
  • WORLD WIND: garners attention as an integral part of the NASA Goddard’s GEONS application that received the coveted Dukes Choice award for Java programs.
  • ARM: NASA prepares for a challenging mission to capture and redirect an asteroid for human exploration—a stepping stone to future human exploration of Mars.
