Eight Years of Spectacular Solar Gazing

The SOlar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft team is celebrating the 8th anniversary of its launch this December. Since 1995, observations and results from SOHO have been exciting everyone from scientists to web surfers with its spectacularly unique views and re-writing quite a few textbooks along the way. To help commemorate the event, the joint NASA/ESA mission team is asking readers to choose their ten favorite images. On the voting page, you'll see 30 thumbnails of the team's favorite SOHO images. Just indicate which five you like the most -- the voting period will last through Nov. 17.
