NASA Announces AAS Events, Features and News Conferences

Thousands of astronomers have amassed at the 215th meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) in Washington, D.C.

From Jan. 3 to Jan. 7, 2010, some 3,500 scientists and researchers are expected to attend and give more than 2,200 scientific presentations, making this one of the largest astronomy meetings ever. Throughout the meeting, NASA research and mission highlights will be presented from missions that include Kepler, the Spitzer Space Telescope, the Hubble Space Telescope, and the newly launched Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE. NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden will address the attendees during a NASA town-hall session on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
