NASA Test Stand Passes Review for Next-Generation Rocket Engine Testing
 

An April 30, 1965 photo shows progress in construction of the A-2 Test Stand at what then was known as NASA's Mississippi Test Operations site (now John C. Stennis Space Center).



Fifteen seconds of fire and steam herald the first test of a Saturn S-II-T rocket stage at NASA's Mississippi Test Operations site (now John C. Stennis Space Center). The 15-second test on the A-2 Test Stand was conducted on April 23, 1966.



Operators at NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center conduct the last scheduled space shuttle main engine test on the A-2 Test Stand on July 29, 2009.
