Checking Out the Ride

STS-114 Commander Eileen Collins in Discovery cockpit STS-114 Mission Commander Eileen Collins checks the window in Discovery's cockpit, in the Orbiter Processing Facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Behind her sits Pilot James Kelly. The crew visitied Kennedy for Crew Equipment Interface Test (CEIT) activities. During CEIT, the crew gets a hands-on look at the payloads they'll be working with on orbit. The Return to Flight mission STS-114 will carry a replacement Control Moment Gyroscope and the Multi-Purpose Logistics Module Raffaello, filled with supplies for the International Space Station.
