Major Completed Actions

NASA completed all awards of Science, Exploration, Cross-Agency Support, and Aeronautics contracts and cooperative agreements in accordance with applicable Program Plans and Recovery Act provisions, and more than 88% of funds appropriated have been disbursed for those projects.

Aeronautics: At the Langley Research Center (LARC), completed Supersonics final test planning for the focus boom test at the Western Aeronautical Test Range; and for the Glenn Research Center (GRC), completed the IRT Refrigeration and Tunnel HEX Project Controls system factory acceptance test at the Tullahoma, TN, Facility.

Science: In collaboration with U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for Earth Science Research and Analysis, the Terrestrial Observation and Prediction System (TOPS) Irrigation, packaging a new version of Landsat-derived Leaf Area Index (LAI) product with metadata and quality assurance information; for Venture Class, completed aircraft reconfiguration for the Carbon in Arctic Reservoirs Vulnerability Experiment (CARVE), as well as shipped the Salt Lake flask pack to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Cross-Agency Support for Hurricane Damage Repair Projects at the Johnson Space Center (JSC): NASA continues to support a performance audit on the Cross-Agency Support JSC Hurricane Repair activities which began on August 31st.

Major
Planned Actions

NASA will continue providing quality assurance of Recipients during the period in May.

Aeronautics: Supersonics at GRC for test planning and preparation in support of wind tunnel testing, and PSL Icing Capability Project final electrical terminations to field devices and control systems, will continue in May.

Science: Continue in May Research Science, Virtual Terrestrial Observation and Prediction System (V-TOPS) collaboration with USDA & CSU Fresno for sensor network installations in California; and Venture Class Carbon in Arctic Reservoirs Vulnerability Experiment (CARVE) on the Twin Otter preparing for June deployment to Oklahoma City, OK, for flights over Colorado.

Cross-Agency Support for Hurricane Damage Repair Projects at the Johnson Space Center (JSC): All CAS restoration projects are completed; no additional repairs are planned.

Exploration: The ARES (Upper Stage) Vertical Assembly Tool software coding will continue in May.
