Aeronautics: At the Ames Research Center (ARC), the Airspace Systems project performed and completed several typical parallel path to various crossing angles collision probability pattern analyses focusing on the collision between UAS's without considering background traffic; also completed and delivered the “Traffic Impact Analysis Complete Report.”

Science: For Venture Class aircraft integration for the Carbon in Arctic Reservoirs Vulnerability Experiment (CARVE) at the Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC), completed installation of two air probes to supply air to both the CARVE real-time gas analyzer and the NOAA flack sampler, and completed installation and cabling of three racks; and DFRC also successfully and flawlessly flew the Global Hawk with the High Altitude Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) Sounding Radiometer (HAMSR) instrument on the science flight for the NOAA Winter Storms and Pacific Atmospheric Rivers (WISPAR) campaign, even when temperatures approached -80C.

Cross-Agency Support for Hurricane Damage Repair Projects at the Johnson Space Center (JSC): NASA continues to support a performance audit on the Cross-Agency Support JSC Hurricane Repair activities which began on August 31st.

Major
Planned Actions

NASA will continue quality assurance of quarterly recipient reporting, as well as validation/update of the NASA Master List in March.

Aeronautics: ARC installation of the new evacuation side line filter to be completed in March and a functional test of the air dryer vessels will be performed in March for the Aeronautics Test Program; Supersonics at GRC test planning and preparation will continue in support of the April 2011 wind tunnel testing.

Science: Continue Research Science, Virtual Terrestrial Observation and Prediction System (V-TOPS), sensor network installations in California; and Venture Class flight planning and a Flight Readiness Review (FRR) for the Carbon in Arctic Reservoirs Vulnerability Experiment (CARVE). The Airborne Science Cryospheric Evolution of the Central Antarctic Plate (ICECAP) flights for boundary conditions, and the Airborne Microwave Observatory of Subcanopy and Subsurface (AirMOSS) radar performance trade study, mechanical configuration and GeoSAR antenna performance; and the Research and Analysis Irrigation Optimization Task deployment of surface renewal instrumentation with DWR and Ryan Palm Farms, will continue in March.

Cross-Agency Support for Hurricane Damage Repair Projects at the Johnson Space Center (JSC): All CAS restoration projects are completed; no additional repairs are planned.

Exploration: The WFF Horizontal Integration Facility ribbon cutting schedule is scheduled for March 22. The CCDev Abort system hardware demonstration engine assembly and Emergency Detection System (EDS) demonstration report and review will continue in March.
