Major Completed Actions

NASA completed all awards of Science, Exploration, Cross-Agency Support, and Aeronautics contracts and cooperative agreements in accordance with applicable Program Plans and Recovery Act provisions, and more than 81% of funds appropriated have been disbursed for those projects. Completed initial review and coordination of Recipient Reporting.

Aeronautics: Aeronautics Test Program, at the Ames Research Center (ARC), the replacement of desiccant materials in the air dryer vessels have been completed on the Compressor Reactivation Project; and at the Glenn Research Center (GRC) completed the installation of the piping manifolds and piping supports inside the plenum of Test Cell 3 for the Propulsion Systems Laboratory (PSL) Ice Crystal Capability Project.

Exploration: At the Stennis Space Center (SSC), the liquid oxygen and hydrogen transfer line replacements on Test Stand A2 are complete.

Science: Ames Research Center (ARC) completed Virtual Terrestrial Observation and Prediction System (V-TOPS) sensor network installation at Red Rock Ranch in California.

Cross-Agency Support for Hurricane Damage Repair Projects at the Johnson Space Center (JSC): NASA continues to support a performance audit on the Cross-Agency Support JSC Hurricane Repair activities which began on August 31st.

Planned Actions

NASA will continue quality assurance of quarterly recipient reporting in February.

Aeronautics: ARC installation of the new evacuation side line filter to be completed in mid-February and a functional test of the air dryer vessels will be performed in late February for the Aeronautics Test Program; Supersonics at GRC for fabrication of the wind tunnel models and test planning will continue in February.

Exploration: The WFF Horizontal Integration Facility ribbon cutting schedule is now TBD due to weather. The CCDev Abort system hardware demonstration engine assembly and Emergency Detection System (EDS) demonstration report and review will continue in February.

Science: Continue Virtual Terrestrial Observation and Prediction System (V-TOPS) sensor network installations in California. The Airborne Science Cryospheric Evolution of the Central Antarctic Plate (ICECAP) flights for boundary conditions, and the Airborne Microwave Observatory of Subcanopy and Subsurface (AirMOSS) radar performance trade study, mechanical configuration and GeoSAR antenna performance, will continue in February. The Glory Observatory launch is planned for late February.

Cross-Agency Support for Hurricane Damage Repair Projects at the Johnson Space Center (JSC): All CAS restoration projects are completed; no additional repairs are planned.
