NASA Awards Contracts for Exploration Mission-2 Support

NASA has awarded a new contract for Ground Support Equipment Fabrication to four awardees that will support the agency’s Exploration Mission-2 activities.

These contracts are a multiple award indefinite delivery/ indefinite quantity contract that will have a basic five-year ordering period for issuance of delivery orders with a maximum contract value of $250 million. The minimum quantity of work to be ordered under this contract is $3,000.

As ground support equipment requirements are identified, the contractors will be provided an opportunity to compete for the work.

The selected awardees include:

  • Engravers Metal Fabricators, Inc., Merritt Island, Florida
  • J.P. Donovan Construction, Inc., Rockledge, Florida
  • Met-Con, Inc. of Cocoa, Florida
  • Precision Fabricating and Cleaning Company, Inc., Cocoa, Florida

Under the Ground Support Equipment contract, the selected awardees will support the fabrication and incidental installation of ground support equipment, test equipment, ground systems and hardware necessary to process flight hardware for Exploration Mission-2, which is the first crewed mission for NASA’s Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System astronauts, at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This acquisition also will meet requirements from NASA’s Stennis Space Center, Johnson Space Center and Marshall Space Flight Center that fit within the general contract scope.
