Congressman Steny Hoyer to Visit NASA Goddard on June 27

Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) will visit NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland on Monday, June 27, 2016. The visit will provide Hoyer an opportunity to meet with Goddard employees and receive an update on the production of the James Webb Space Telescope, scheduled to launch Oct. 2018.

News media representatives are welcome to attend a Webb telescope status briefing  by Webb Telescope Project Manager Bill Ochs, which will begin at 3 p.m. EDT. Following the presentation, Cong. Hoyer will be available for a brief Q&A session.

News media wishing to attend must notify Goddard News Chief Edward Campion no later than 10 a.m. on Monday, June 27. Campion can be contacted by phone at 301-286-0697 or via e-mail at: edward.s.campion@nasa.gov

Reporters should plan to arrive at Goddard by 2:30 p.m. so they have time to receive access badges and be in place in the building that houses Webb’s giant cleanroom before the status briefing starts shortly before 3 p.m.
