The Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Panel Discussion was comprised of six dedicated JSC employees who play a vital role at JSC in making positive contributions toward promoting women to choose STEM education and career fields. The panel discussed their accomplishments and offered encouragement to women and girls considering technical careers to become the trailblazers of tomorrow. Raising awareness among stakeholders to support and motivate women to choose STEM education and career fields will directly influence sustainable and inclusive growth of women in STEM. The "It Gets Better" video is a video project created by the JSC Out & Allied Employee Resource Group, with support from NASA JSC management. It was created as an outreach tool primarily directed at middle school, high school, and college-aged lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) individuals who are victims of bullying and/or have been affected by bullying. This video sends the message to current and future NASA employees that it is OK to be LGBTQ, and that NASA JSC management supports and encourages an inclusive and diverse workforce in our workplace. To help resolve people problems before they become legal problems by:

  • Educating the JSC workforce on Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, policies, and processes
  • Ensuring EEO is provided to all employees and job applicants, regardless of their race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a parent, or disability
  • Providing neutral EEO counseling
  • Facilitating the resolution of issues through Alternative Dispute Resolution
  • Promoting a working environment that respects and values the diverse expertise of the entire JSC workforce
