Science and Technology Partnership Forum
The interagency Science and Technology (S&T) Partnership Forum was established in 2015. It is a strategic forum established to identify synergistic efforts and technologies in order to leverage those synergies and influence portfolios across space agencies in areas deemed pervasive and ready for collaboration.
The S&T Partnership Forum determines the forum strategy, goals, and objectives, as well as the strategy and objectives specific to each collaboration topic area. The forum coordinates and facilitates partner dialog, collects data, and performs data analysis to achieve the following objectives:
- Facilitate cross-agency collaboration and strategize on technical solutions to common pervasive needs.
- Maintain awareness of each agency’s space S&T investments to reduce duplication and identify areas worthy of collaboration
- Identify impediments to collaboration and formulate solutions.
The forum assembles data products into recommendations for the execution of collaborations among the partnering agencies, industry, and academia. The forum activities are finite for each collaboration topic area and are executed following a phased approach. The principal partner agencies and associated principal partner executives oversee all forum activities:
- USSF: United States Space Force, Department of the Air Force, Chief Scientist, Dr. Joel Mozer
- NASA: Office of the Chief Technologist (OCT), Chief Technologist, Dr. Douglas Terrier
- NRO: Advanced Systems & Technology Directorate (AS&T), Chief Scientist, Dr. Byron Knight
