The IPP seed Fund provides an opportunity for Universities to contribute towards furthering the goals and objectives of the Space Agency. Specifically, partnering with the Universities facilitates the advancement of Technologies at a Low Technology Level (TRL) which are of critical importance for future Space Missions and for advancing Aeronautics research. Given the vast breadth and depth of technological resources residing within the Academic community, they allow NASA to acquire capabilities on a wide range of the Agency's needs. Opportunities for Seed Fund partnerships with NASA may be derived from existing STTR or SBIR projects with university engagement within an existing project and in conjunction with a NASA partner. Furthermore, partnerships with Academia propagates NASA excitement and challenges to a generation of young and highly skilled investigators. They, in turn, are more likely to join NASA and serve to augment the Agency's future work-force.
