OVERVIEW:
The NASA Forms Management Program is administered by the NASA Office of the Chief Information Officer (NASA OCIO) through the Capital Planning and Governance Division (CP&G). Forms are used throughout the Agency to initiate actions and capture information to document decisions, functions, and processes. Leading advisors for information and consumer technology report that 85% of business processes depend on forms as data capture tools. An efficient and effective forms management program represents a significant investment in terms of software/hardware and labor costs to develop, fill, store, transmit, process, and retrieve information.
VISION STATEMENT:
Provide an intelligent forms solution that supports the NASA strategic plan, facilitates regulatory compliance, offers effective design tools with easily managed versioning, rapid deployment, and a greater user experience on a global scale for NASA, its contractors, and business partners.
GOVERNANCE:
NASA Policy Directive(NPD) 1420, Forms Management is the governing NASA policy. Other applicable authority documents include the Privacy Act of 1974, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the Plain Writing Act of 2010, NASA Procedural Requirement (NPR) 2810, NASA Information Security Policy, NASA Procedural Requirement 1441.1, NASA Records Retention Schedules, and NASA Technical Standard 2804, Minimum Interoperability Software Suite.
