John W. McManus

Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer
National Aeronautics and Space Administration

John McManus is the Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Office of the CIO. As CTO, he leads the definition and development of NASA's Information Technology architecture and ensures that it meets the needs of the Agency and integrates innovative technologies. Dr. McManus joined NASA from Lucent Technologies Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ, where he served as Vice President of the Software Technology Center. He has also served as Vice President for Research at Cigital, Inc., following a career in flight simulation research, development, and management at NASA's Langley Research Center. John received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the College of William and Mary, and a B.A. from Randolph-Macon College.
