Accreditations and Affiliations

The Academy of Program/Project & Engineering Leadership maintains relationships with a growing network of professional organizations and associations, as well as with NASA organizations that promote professional development. These include formal affiliations with external accrediting bodies that have reviewed and recognized the high quality of the Academy's training courses and professional development activities.
American Council on Education

American Council on Education (ACE)

The American Council on Education (ACE) is the major coordinating body for the nation's higher education institutions. It seeks to provide leadership and a unifying voice on key higher education issues and to influence public policy through advocacy, research, and program initiatives.

 

Project Management Institute (PMI)

Project Management Institute (PMI)
The Academy is a Registered Education Provider of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the premier comprehensive continuing education program related to the field of project management. This means the Academy's project management training counts toward the requirements for PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements Program. Participants who attend registered PMI-approved Academy courses can earn Professional Development Units (PDUs). PDUs can also be earned for attending APPEL Masters Forums (18 PDUs), Knowledge Forums
(18 PDUs), and the annual PM Challenge (15 PDUs).

 

International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE)

The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE)

The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is a nonprofit membership organization founded to develop and disseminate the interdisciplinary principles and practices that enable the realization of successful systems.

 

International Program/Project Management Committee (IPMC)

The International Program/Project Management Committee (IPMC) is a committee organized under the auspices of the International Astronautical Federation that focuses on sharing experiences, best practices and new techniques with space program/project management practitioners in space agencies, companies, universities and professional societies throughout the world.

 

NASA Engineering Network (NEN) (NASA Personnel Only)

The NASA Engineering Network (NEN) is an integrated suite of tools that promote collaboration, learning and knowledge sharing among NASA’s engineers.

 

NASA Training and Development Office

The NASA Training and Development Office extends opportunities to help employees gain the necessary knowledge and skill to fulfill NASA’s mission through formal education, training and on the job developmental experiences.

 

Office of Management and Budget and the Federal Acquisition Institute

Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI)
Established in 1976, the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) facilitates career development and strategic human capital management in support of a professional federal acquisition workforce. In April 2007, the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) announced the establishment of a structured development program for program and project managers identified as the Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM). The Academy provides project personnel with guidance on the competencies, professional experiences, and educational opportunities that meet these certification requirements.

 

International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)

International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)
The Academy has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102; (703) 506-3275. In obtaining this approval, the Academy has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard which is recognized internationally as a standard of good practice. As a result of our Authorized Provider membership status, the Academy is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard.

Rocket University (RU) is a training and development effort designed to develop and maintain flight systems engineering skills and expertise by gaining a broad understanding of key concepts in the field through coursework and hands-on application and practice.
