R. Lloyd Keith - NESC Chief Engineer

Mr. Lloyd Keith earned a B.A. from the University of La Verne and went on to do graduate work at UC Santa Barbara and Texas A&M where he earned his M.S degree.  He has been employed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for the last 31 years working in both technical and managerial positions.

Mr. Keith worked on Voyager, Seasat, and several smaller projects before transitioning to a series of Military programs (including 5 years in Denver as a JPL representative).  Starting in 1993, he began working full-time on the Mars Pathfinder Project.  He was responsible for the development and testing of the RAD6000 Flight Computer for that project.

Since the successful delivery of the Mars Pathfinder Flight Computer, Mr. Keith has worked supporting a number of flight projects including SeaWinds, Stardust, Mars '98, New Millennium Deep Space 1, as well as the Flight Hardware Logistics Program (FHLP - buying flight computers for 9 flight projects).  Mr. Keith was promoted to Avionic Equipment Section Manager in 1998. Starting in 2003, Lloyd worked on X2000 and Phoenix Projects.  He joined the Office of the Chief Engineer in 2005 and serves as the Deputy to the Chief Engineer of JPL as well as the JPL NESC Chief Engineer.
