Rodger Farley – NESC Academy Biography

Mr. Farley has worked as an aerospace engineer for 33 years, mostly at the Mechanical Systems Branch at NASA/GSFC and currently serves as a mechanical systems engineer.  

His experiences encompass aircraft, rotorcraft, spacecraft, and most recently balloon craft.  He is the chief designer for the NASA super pressure balloon development, designing the vehicle as well as authoring many design and flight simulation software products for stratospheric balloon flight.  

In his early career he designed many spacecraft deployable structures and mechanisms, notably on COBE, XTE, TRMM, ATLAS, and helped with many other in-house designs.
