On Nov. 3, 2011, NASA Explorer Schools was joined by NASA's Deputy Director of Planetary Science, Jim Adams in a video chat. Jim Adams is NASA's Deputy Director of Planetary Science. He believes science and engineering are among the most rewarding careers one can pursue. NASA spacecraft will be heading for key locations within the solar system during the "Year of the Solar System," a Martian year covering almost two Earth years, which began on October 2010 and goes through August 2012.

Adams talked about recent planetary mission discoveries and upcoming launches. He also discussed his career path and some of the most rewarding moments in his 22 years with NASA.
