NASA Announces Streamlined Professional Development Offerings for the 2014-15 School Year
NASA Education is pleased to announce a consolidation of its Educational Professional Development, or EPD, activities for educators to access dynamic content and professional development based upon its unique mission of research and discovery. As part of the streamlined NASA EPD offerings, educators can locate NASA content in the following ways:
-- Consolidated online PD offerings into a single site
-- Cutting edge PD and support aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core standards
-- New options for continuing education units or credit for participation
-- Webinars, short courses and extended EPD experiences
NASA is in the process of restructuring its education-related programs and projects to streamline and maximize the services it can offer within allocated fiscal resources. The new structure will take effect for the 2014-15 school year. As a result, NASA will eliminate and/or repackage some of its educational offerings, including the NASA Explorer Schools project and the NASA Educators Online Network. NASA remains committed to providing science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, resources for educators and learners.
