Program Description

The Kennedy Space Center's Intern Project is intended to attract students pursuing degrees that are of specific interest to KSC. The intern work schedule is concurrent with academic terms except for high school students who are only eligible during the summer term. All interns are expected to work a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. The objective is to inform students about KSC's mission and to give them valuable work experience related to their academic studies. The project also provides KSC an opportunity to evaluate the student's suitability for participation in the co-op program or full-time employment upon graduation.

Eligibility

--Participants must be U.S citizens.
--Participants must have achieved at least a 3.0 overall grade point average.
--Participants must be at least 16 years of age.
--Participants must have a valid driver's license and the ability to have their own transportation throughout internships. --Participants must satisfactorily pass a security background investigation.

How to Apply

Academic institutions that have established intern programs will be notified of the center's needs and asked to refer students for consideration.

The application process for students to directly apply is under review and is expected to be live in December. Please check back closer to the date for updates to when you can apply.

Schedule

Concurrent with school semesters: fall, spring and summer

Deadlines (These dates are the same each year)

--Fall applications are due by May 15.
--Spring applications are due by Oct. 15.
--Summer applications are due by Feb. 1.
