Airborne Research Experiences for Educators Project
[Educators Grades 6-12 & Students Higher Education]
[Available Nationally]
NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center in California hosts one of the most exciting professional development opportunities available to teachers. Undergraduate students and teachers partner to conduct research observations on the DC-8 aircraft and subsequently develop related curriculum. The teachers assist and mentor the undergraduate students. The teams participate in a six-week residential science research program and create curriculum-based activities resulting from their observations and experiences during the six weeks. This is a complete end-to-end residential research experience in airborne remote-sensing and atmospheric science.
This opportunity is open to secondary educators (grades 6-12) who specialize in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
