NHHPC Theme: Human Factors and Performance

NHHPC Theme: Performance, Human Factors, and Human System Engineering Topics may address development of innovative and advanced human performance technologies to improve the safety and efficiency of humans living and working in space and on Earth—including the performance of all human interactions with systems such as flight crews, ground controllers, and ground maintenance personnel; development of dual use space flight and global performance technologies. Potential areas of collaboration include:
  • Assess and develop new approaches and technologies to enhance capabilities to monitor human performance and human system interactions in all environments including remote operations/robotics and multi-agent working environments where humans, robots, and software tools are designed to work together
  • Advance human factors/human system engineering by sharing knowledge of human capabilities and limitations impacts to the design of products, processes, systems, and work environments with Earth and space-based applications
  • Develop innovative and advanced human performance technologies to improve the safety and efficiency of humans living and working in space and on Earth
  • Develop new approaches to the human as a system, using systems engineering and integration techniques to enable human systems engineering
  • Develop new tools and practices to promote human centered design
  • Develop and advance novel approaches and human performance technologies for various space flight regimes from suborbital to planetary flight. Share human performance information and technologies among civilian and commercial aviation and spaceflight entities
  • Transfer human factors technologies between government sponsored and commercial spaceflight, military, and civilian applications of unmanned aerial vehicle operations
  • Transfer advancements in human factors between human space flight, aviation, and the terrestrial workplace environment
