General Aviation Survey Questionnaire (Added Feb. 6, 2008)
The survey used during interviews with general aviation pilots. The question numbers contained within the survey correspond to the column headings in the survey response files.

Fixed Wing General Aviation Survey Responses (4,047)*
  • Section A - a set of responses to questions relating pilot operating experience during the preceding 60-day recall period and during the pilot’s total career. PDF Format or Excel Format.
  • Section B - a set of responses to questions designed to capture recent safety-related flight operational experiences of respondents. Section B was designed to generate multi-year longitudinal measurements of national aviation system safety. PDF Format or Excel Format.
  • Section C - a set of responses to focused questions on a topic of particular interest to NAOMS. Section C was designed to change regularly as new topics of interest arose. PDF Format or Excel Format.
  • Section D - a set of responses to questions designed to elicit respondent feedback on the interview experience. Note: The responses to free text narrative questions GD3A and GD5 were disaggregated from the parent survey responses and were subsequently randomized. PDF Format or Excel Format.
Partial Raw Fixed Wing General Aviation Survey Responses (4,047) -- PDF Format or Excel Format
This file contains a portion of the actual or raw responses collected in Section A of the general aviation surveys to show the breadth and scope of the pilot community surveyed and the types of aircraft flown. The fields represented in this file are the career flight hours, the flight hours during the recall period, the flight legs during the recall period and the make-model-series of aircraft flown during the recall period. These fields were disaggregated from the parent survey responses and were subsequently randomized. The fields for flight hours and flight legs were maintained as a set when randomized

Rotorcraft General Aviation Survey Responses (701)* (Added Feb. 6, 2008)
Responses for 701* general aviation survey responses that have the primary "wing type" identified as rotorcraft. Partial Raw Rotorcraft General Aviation Survey Responses (701)* (Added Feb. 6, 2008) -- PDF Format or Excel Format

This file contains a portion of the actual or raw responses for 701* surveys that have the primary “wing type” identified as rotorcraft. The raw responses were collected in Section A of the general aviation surveys to show the breadth and scope of the pilot community surveyed and the types of aircraft flown. The fields represented in this file are the career flight hours, the flight hours during the recall period, the flight legs during the recall period and the make-model-series of aircraft flown during the recall period. These fields were disaggregated from the parent survey responses and were subsequently randomized. The fields for flight hours and flight legs were maintained as a set when randomized.

* The number of rotorcraft survey responses (701) has been corrected from the number (729) posted on December 31, 2007.
