Lowery Duvall: "I think what always caught my attention with NASA was that they were always doing what has never been done before. They are always doing new things. It was always interesting, not only were they obviously exploring space but in the process of it, they were trying to meet a challenge, that really, the world has not tried to meet before the manned space flight and longtime habitation in space. And it has produced so many spinoff technologies, there's so much, you know. As a result we have things like GPS and telecommunications and weather satellites today, to I've even heard that the amalgam they use to fill in your teeth is a metal developed during the space program. It's just amazing that all that came from trying to put people and studies in space."
