Rocketing to Orbit
A Russian Soyuz spacecraft blasts off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Thursday, April 14, en route to the International Space Station with a crew of three on board. The Expedition 11 crew -- Sergei Krikalev and John Phillips -- will spend six months in space and greet the first Shuttle crew to fly in more than two years when it arrives at the Station. European Space Agency astronaut Roberto Vittori will spend eight days on the Station and return with Expedition 10 astronauts Leroy Chiao and Salizhan Sharipov.
