Rex Engelhardt is a Launch Services Program Mission Integration Manager (MIM) at Kennedy Space Center. He and the Mission Integration Team are responsible for managing all integration and vehicle engineering aspects related to the STEREO launch service.

He was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico but spent most of his childhood in Oregon. He moved to Florida in January 1983 for his first Air Force assignment at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. He left the Air Force in 1989 and joined NASA about two months later. He resides with his wife, Renee and child, Steven, in Merritt Island.

Engelhardt is a graduate of Cascade High School in Turner, Oregon. He graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 1982. He then received his Master of Science degree in engineering management from the University of Central Florida in 1996.

Since joining NASA in 1989, Engelhardt has served as site manager for the mobile launch platforms, shuttle payload integration leader, shuttle payload operations manager, and launch site support manager. He acted as the first Kennedy Space Center liaison to Goddard Space Flight Center, which was also treated as a Project Management Development Program assignment. Currently, he is a Mission Integration Manager in the Launch Services Program.
