    Facility/Payload Description

    Facility Summary

    • The Commerical Refrigerator Incubator Module - Modified (CRIM-M) is a front air breathing facility with numerous hours logged on ISS, Space Shuttle, and Spacehab.


    • The CRIM-M provides thermal performance by power only and is designed to communicate with the International Space Station (ISS) EXpedite the PRocessing of Experiments to Space Station (EXPRESS) Racks for remote operations.


    • The internal compartment provides a 28V power receptacle and can control temperature to within a half degree Celsius. The internal payload volume dimensions are 17.3 cm x 25.9 cm x 41.9 cm with a maximum allowable experiment weight of 11.25 kg.

    The Commerical Refrigerator Incubator Module - Modified (CRIM-M) is a single middeck locker equivalent thermal incubator for payloads requiring thermal control in the temperature ranges between 4 degrees C and 40 degrees C. The CRIM-M is a front air breathing payload with numerous hours logged on ISS.

    CRIM-M is a single middeck locker equivalent weighing 14.24 kg and drawing 40 - 126 Watts of power. CRIM-M has a volume of 8.1 L.

    Operations

    Facility Operations

    The CRIM-M can be operated remotely if installed within an EXPRESS Rack or through push buttons on the front surface. Four circuit breakers are provided for power, data logging, internal power, and air flow. The internal compartment is accessed through the opening of the front door and an internal experiment door is provided for added thermal stability.
