    Experiment/Payload Description

    Research Summary

    • High Definition images of activities onboard the International Space Station are downlinked real-time to the ground teams using the Ku-Band.

    • The availability of high quality images along with real-time data gives investigators an opportunity to observe their experiments in a way that might lead to a higher data yield.

    Description

JAXA-HDTV system transmits the HD (High Definition) picture to the ground through HRDL (Ku-Band) with HDV format camcorder. Prior to utilization operations, the hardware shall be activated and be tested in order to check the system and to verify procedures of real-time downlink.
