The Observer
STS-114 Mission Specialist Soichi Noguchi

Mission Specialist Soichi Noguchi perches on an International Space Station truss during the third STS-114 spacewalk. He provided a vital observational link between fellow Mission Specialists Steve Robinson and Andy Thomas during a crucial phase of the excursion. Robinson rode the Station's Canadarm2 to the underbelly of Space Shuttle Discovery with Thomas at the arm's controls. Noguchi acted as communication liaison and lookout during the maneuvers.
