Expedition 10 Flight Engineer Salizhan Sharipov holds "Nanosputnik" in the Zvezda Service Module of the International Space Station. This 11-pound satellite was launched into its own orbit during a March 28, 2005, spacewalk. The purpose of Nanosputnik is to support development of satellite control techniques, monitoring of satellite operations, and research on new attitude system sensors and other components.
