The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Dragon spacecraft launched on time Oct. 7, 2012 at 8:35 p.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. Dragon is filled with payloads bound for the International Space Station on a mission called SpaceX CRS-1, the company's first commercial resupply mission to the station.
