All briefings are held inside the Kennedy News Center auditorium and will be carried live on NASA TV unless otherwise noted.

Launch-3 Days (Monday, Feb. 4)

9 a.m. - Countdown Status Briefing

10:30 a.m. - STS-122 crew arrival at Shuttle Landing Facility

5 p.m. - Launch countdown officially begins (not on NASA TV)

Launch-2 Days (Tuesday, Feb. 5)

10 a.m. - Countdown Status Briefing

- Mike McAleenan, launch weather officer, 45th Weather Squadron

1 p.m. (no earlier than) - STS-122 Launch Readiness News Conference

1 p.m. - Columbus and ATV Briefing

- Michel Tognini, head of ESA's European Astronaut Centre

6 p.m. - The rotating service structure moves to launch position

Launch Day (Thursday, Feb. 7)

5:15 a.m. - Live NASA TV launch commentary begins

Launch Day Crew Activities: (times may vary slightly)
4:15 a.m. - Crew wakes up (not on NASA TV)
10:15 a.m. - Weather briefing (commander, pilot, and mission specialst 2) (not on NASA TV)
10:25 a.m. - Astronauts don flight suits
10:55 a.m. - Astronauts depart for launch pad
11:25 a.m. - Astronauts arrive at White Room and begin ingress
12:40 p.m. - Close crew hatch
2:45 p.m. - Launch

Launch +1 hour - Post-launch News Conference

Monday, Feb. 4 - (Launch-3 days) - 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 5 - (Launch-2 days) - 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 6 - (Launch-1 day) - 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 7 - (Launch, Flight day 1) - 4:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
Feb. 8-17 - (Flight days 2-10) - 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (except weekends)
Monday, Feb. 18 - (Landing, Flight day 11) - 6 a.m.-8 p.m.

Media Badging Schedule

News media may obtain STS-122 mission credentials from NASA's Kennedy Space Center Pass and Identification Office on State Road 3. Office hours of operation are listed below.

Sunday, Feb. 3 - closed
Monday, Feb. 4 - 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 5 - 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 6 - 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 7 - 4:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

News media are required to be escorted by NASA Public Affairs at all times while at Kennedy, except when at the news center or the Complex 39 cafeteria. No photography is allowed anywhere other than the press site unless prior permission is granted by NASA Public Affairs. News media are allowed at the press site only when Public Affairs personnel are on duty and the NASA News Center is open.
