Captain Paul W. Lucyk is the Chief of Training, Standardization, and Evaluation Branch for the 30th Weather Squadron, 30th Space Wing, Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB), Calif.

Capt. Lucyk entered the Air Force in 1991 as an F-15 Avionics Technician. He served five years as an enlisted member at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. and at Lowery Air Force Base, Colo. Capt. Lucyk received his Bachelor of Science in meteorology from Florida State University and an Air Force commission from the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 145. He was then assigned to the 25th Operational Weather Squadron at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz. where he served as Continental United States Weather Flight Team Officer-in-Charge and as Continental United States Weather Flight Operations Officer. He was subsequently assigned as the Wing Weather Officer for the 355th Wing, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in April 2001.

In September 2002, Capt. Lucyk was assigned to Vandenberg Air Force Base as a Launch Weather Officer and in September 2003 he took on his current position, overseeing all 30th Weather Squadron training.

Capt. Lucyk and his wife, Shilo, live at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
