Craters Young and Old
This scene, which lies near the crater Bjorson in Mercury's northern hemisphere, displays features with a variety of ages and degradation. The crater on the right side of the image is relatively fresh and some terracing, or collapse of the walls after impact, is visible. The crater at the bottom of the image has been embayed and contains younger craters within it, indicating that it is older.
