Kepler Mission Manager Update
On Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1, team members from NASA's Ames Research Center and the Kepler mission will participate in the first SpaceUp San Francisco
event held at Citizen Space.
SpaceUp is a space unconference
, where participants decide the topics, schedule, and structure of the event. Everyone who attends SpaceUp is encouraged to give a talk, moderate a panel, or start a discussion.
Mission manager Roger Hunter will participate in the event and give a talk about the Search for Another Earth on Sunday, April 1 at 2:30 p.m. PDT. You can watch the conference live at Spacevidcast.
For those inspired by Roger's look for the day, you can participate by adding a Johannes Kepler
(the namesake of the mission) likeness to your personal photo and sharing with the NASA Kepler mission community on Facebook
When asked about his new attire, Mr. Hunter responded, "The identification of potentially habitable planets requires deep thought. To think deeply, we must dress as deep thinkers have dressed in the past. There is nothing that speaks of deep thought more plainly than a formal neck-ruff."
Happy April Fools' Day!
